“William Robert is an exceptional pony and a most valued member of Circle C Equestrian Center. We are not entirely sure of his age, but the vet estimated “mid to late 30s” six years ago. Whatever his age, his arthritic knees stopped him from being used in riding lessons years ago, but that was when his true work really started.

William, along with our Certified Horsemanship Association and PATH certified instructors, teaches children about horsemanship. Whether it is a Daisy Girl Scout who is meeting a pony up close for the first time, a volunteer RIIT (Riding Instructor In Training) learning how to apply a standing bandage, or a local high school student from the Functional Skills class working on weekly speech goals, William plays a central role in their experience.

His patience is infinite and after all these years of being groomed over and over again, legs wrapped and having his heart rate checked repeatedly, he still acknowledges and engages with each person he meets with curiosity and compassion. William is a special pony and a valued partner in our work, we are so lucky to have him on our team. Thank you for the opportunity to share!” —Cathy T.
